Swift Optical Instruments

Swift Optical Instruments. Enduring Quality Since 1926.

Swift Optical Instruments is pleased to introduce a new line of Swift Digital cameras and Swift application software for use in the classroom. By combining traditional microscopy techniques with digital cameras and imaging software, Swift Optical Instruments, now provides teachers with additional tools and solutions.

Digital microscopy is a concept that allows teachers to utilize their budgets to communicate knowledge to their entire classroom. With this in mind, we have developed a series of lesson plans for use with Swift Compound and Stereo microscopes in conjunction with Swift Cam cameras and digital imaging software.

Stop by the Swift Optical Instruments booth for a hands-on demonstration of student activities that you can use in your classroom setting. You will also receive a CD with the student activities. We hope it makes your job easier as a teacher and makes learning more fun for your students.

Swift Optical Instruments is proud to partner with teachers!

NABT Conference Workshops

NABT Workshop

Title: "Inquiry-based Microscopy: The Case of the Missing Cockatoo"
Presenters: Dr. Connie Russell - Angelo State University, San Angelo, TX / Cynthia Syverson-Mercer

Description: This workshop will allow participants to experience an inquiry-based laboratory that teaches basic microscopy and digital imaging concepts, while at the same time allowing students to "solve" a whodunit-type crime! Participants will leave with "evidence" bag samples, basics for prepping the laboratory and teaching tips. This workshop will feature Swift Microscopes in action.

NABT Corporate Workshop

Title: Organelles of the Day II

Presenters: Whitney Hagins, Science Department Head, Lexington High School, Lexington, MA
Ken Bateman, Weston Middle School, Weston, MA
Cynthia Syverson-Mercer

Description: This workshop, sponsored by Swift Optical Instruments, is an innovative approach to teaching about cell structure while learning proper microscope and digital microscopy techniques. Traditional teaching approaches tend to lead to chaos in the classroom. This workshop addresses these issues through the use of Swift microscopes and Swift Digital imaging products. This is part two of the popular workshop sponsored by Swift Optical Instruments at last year's NABT. Join us this year for a new approach. Get "DIGI" with Swift and use your "digination" in the classroom!
